Robert E. Dickens, PhD is Director of Governmental Relations for the University of Nevada, Reno. He completed a bachelor's and master's degree at the University of Nevada and a doctorate in natural resource policy from the University of Arizona. He is a native of Reno and has witnessed the major and minor flooding events in the Truckee Meadows from the early 1950s onward. His responsibilities include federal, state and local governmental relations. He has represented the university in ten sessions of the Nevada Legislature, managed federal governmental relations since 1986, and been involved with the flood control project on behalf of the university since the mid-1990s. He is also and adjunct Associate Professor of Political Science and teaches courses in governmental relations and federalism.
